In Loving Memory of Dale Raymond Verdoorn. Born in Sioux City Iowa January 1,1936. Passed away at age 83 in Denver Colorado January 15, 2019.
Dale Raymond Verdoorn of Aurora CO peacefully passed away at the Denver Hospice surrounded by family. Dale is survived by daughter Kim Verdoorn of Castle Rock, CO, son Dana (Melissa) Verdoorn and granddaughter Alexandria of Castle Rock, CO, sister Carol (Theron) Beach of Kremmling, CO.
Dale attended Morningside College in Sioux City, Iowa; enlisted in the Air Force and received an honorable discharge. Dale moved to Denver, CO where he married Norma (Parker) Verdoorn in 1958. He was employed for several years as a mechanical engineer, then started and managed his own business. Dale worked as a land development and home building consultant from 1977-2007 with his brothers in Colorado. He retired to Scottsdale, AZ and recently returned to Denver to be near family.
Dale was a sports enthusiast; playing basketball in high school and college, even playing recreationally as an adult. Dale's passion later turned toward golf. He became an avid and very competitive golfer, playing in tournaments on many of the best courses. Dale met several top golf professionals and even caddied for a pro during a PGA tournament.
Dale will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by parents Richard & Enni; brothers Rich, Don, Everett and Arthur.
Memorial service Thursday January 31, 2019 @ 2 p.m. Lakewood United Methodist Church 1390 Brentwood in Lakewood, CO. Family and friends are invited to attend a reception at the church following memorial services. Donations in Dale's name to the American Heart Association in lieu of flowers.
Final resting place, Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery.
