Craig Ehlers

Craig Steven Steve Ehlers was called home and entered into eternity with the Lord on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the age of 53, after battling cancer. He was a native of New Orleans and was residing in Evergreen, Colorado. Steve was well-loved by many for his kind heart and patience. He never rushed or jumped to conclusions and always looked at the good and bad in every situation that came his way. Steve never had a harsh word for anyone and accepted everyone for who they were.
He passionately loved his wife Kathy, who, when he met her, rode her own motorcycle. Steve regarded her as his partner and his best friend for their 27 years of marriage. His two daughters, Andrea and Jordan were his pride and joy. He loved to share in their creative activities, which included being their model for their beautician and artistic endeavors.
Steve's talents included mechanics, machine work and computers. He built motorcycles, cars and even an airplane. He always helped anyone who requested assistance in any of his areas of expertise. He was just like his dad in his story-telling and included all the details and emotions as if you were there. Steve will be forever remembered and missed as a husband, father, brother and friend.
He is survived by his wife Kathy, daughters Andrea and Jordan, sisters Sylvia Hingle Ray, Michelle Beard Ricky, and Maegan Ehlers and brothers Michael Ehlers Julie and Frederick Ehlers and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Ehlers and Socorro Conley. All relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at Believers Life Family Church, 501 Lapalco Blvd, Gretna, LA on Monday, February 18, 2013. Visitation is at 10:00am and the service is at 11:00am.
