Constance Valdez

April 3, 1955 — August 1, 2018

Constance S. Valdez passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior with her family by her side, Wednesday, August 1, 2018 after a long illness of cancer and complication from "stiff person syndrome". She was 63.

Constance (Connie) was born in Brooklyn, NY, the sixth of nine children born to Fred and Angela Sapio. She was raised on Long Island, NY, spending the later part of her life in the Denver area having moved there with her parents in 1976. It was in Denver where she met her husband of 34 years, Rolando Valdez.

Connie's early career was spent in the financial service industry, having worked for several banks including Citicorp Information Resources during which she managed the training department.

Cyprus Minerals presented an opportunity for Connie to expand her horizons when they first commissioned her to set up a training program for miners and later when asked to become a consultant for them when Cyprus Mineral's IT department was merged into EDS, a multinational IT service company.

Connie founded Valdez Consulting and later was instrumental in transitioning it into PrimeMedia, Inc, a company servicing the Fortune 500 companies with their training needs. As principal founder she was an integral part of PrimeMedia's success.

After 22 years of self employment, Connie accepted a position with Charles Schwab Corporation as a project manager. Years later, illness forced her into a leave of absence.

Connie was a gentle, beautiful soul that made everyone she met feel special, leaving a wonderful lasting impression on all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.

Connie is survived by her loving husband, a mother, many brothers and sisters, many nieces and nephews as well as many wonderful friends.

A memorial celebration will be held at Calvary Aurora Church, Thursday, August 9th at 11am. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, Rocky Mountain Chapter.
