Claudia was born August 3, 1926 to Claude Elmer Pierson and Allie Lane in Gate City, Virginia. She is predeceased by her siblings: Helen Pierson Snyder, Charles Pierson, Louis Pierson and Claude "Cotton" Pierson
She graduated from Sullivan High School in Kingsport TN, then went on to work at the Meade Corporation. She married Bill Morelock and had a daughter, Carol in 1946.
Claudia and Carol then moved to Corpus Christi Texas where she married Vincent Mojica Vargas and later, moved to San Jose, California. The couple had a daughter, Venietta Maria Vargas, born in 1959.
Claudia, who also went by her middle name, LaRue, moved to Daytona Beach, FL where she had a career in Hotel/Motel Management until she returned to Kingsport TN to take care of her mother in her latter years. In Kingsport, she attended the Mayfair United Methodist Church and was the General Residential Manager at Kiwanis Towers, a senior independent and assisted living facility. After the death of her mother, Alma, she moved to Denver, Colorado in 1999. It was in Denver where she deepened her walk with the LORD, becoming a part of a large community there that loved her dearly.

The memories she made with her family and friends will stay with them forever. She was a fighter and spunky to the last, earning her the affectionate nickname of the ‘energizer bunny'.
Her family is so very grateful to the staff of the Mt. Evans Hospice who provided her with tender loving care during this last season of her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation to either Mt. Evans Hospice http://www.mtevans.org/ or St. Jude's Children's hospital https://www.stjude.org/ in her name.
