Clara Reed Hunt, 73 of Lebanon, passed away March 15, 2018 following a long illness at Summit Medical Center. She is the daughter of Phocian Ward Gill, Sr. and Clara Reed Gill who preceded in death. She is also preceded in death by brothers Albert Wayne Gill, Phocian Ward Gill, Jr. and Joseph Edward Gill. Sisters, Emma Jean Gill, Mary Temple Greer and Elizabeth "Teka" Gill. Also preceding in death is grandson Anthony Darryl Young. She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Robert Charles Hunt. She is also survived by brother Henry Stanton "Buddy" Gill and loving sister-in-law Linda Gill (Phocian Gill Jr.).
She is survived by five children; sons David Willis (Tammy Hooper), Kevin Willis (Amy) and Gerald Willis. Daughters Robbie Lynn Hayter (DL) and Terri Jean Denton (Danny). She is also survived by two step-sons, Rickey and Toby Hunt. Four grandchildren, Christopher Willis, Jessica Sparkman (Wesley), Lacy Lynn Delaney (David) and Karli Jane Willis. Step-grandchildren, Heather Williams (Josh) and Erika Humes (Levi). Seven great-grandchildren, Lillian Emily Willis, Dahlia Mae Willis, Lucien Anthony Willis, Dominic Alexander Dickens, Willow Raine Sparkman, Forrest Wayne Delaney and Joseph Darren Hunt Delaney. Step great-grandchildren, Ivory, Michael and Adam and Callista. Numerous nieces and nephew will miss her.
She was baptized at an early age at Grant Missionary Baptist church. Her life was one of caring for others. Her door was always open for anyone in need. She dearly loved her grandchildren and cooking. She never missed a family function and always cooked too much. Local benefits were always provided her pineapple upside down cakes.
Funeral services for Clara will be Saturday at 1 p.m. till service at 4:00 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church with Senior Pastor John Hunn officiating. Pallbearers will be DL Hayter, Danny Denton, David Willis, Kevin Willis, Chris Willis and David Delaney. Honorary pallbearers are Gerald Willis, Richard Farrell and Tony West. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to Sherry's Run in her name. They have been a great support to Clara over the past year.
