Christopher Michael Archuleta

In loving memory of Christopher “Chris” Archuleta, son, grandson, brother, nephew, uncle and friend. Chris was born on July 7, 1972 and passed away on February 14, 2021.

Growing up, Chris was a good boy who played hard and laughed a lot. He was a kind and thoughtful little boy. He worried about the elderly woman and her disabled adult daughter who lived on the block and would often stop playing when he saw them outside, he would run over to their gated yard, just to say hello. This was his compassion in action and was evidence to the caring heart and empathy that came naturally to him.

As Chris got older, he was many things. He was a Sous-chef and his ice sculptures were a sight to behold! This chapter in his life brought him great joy and pride. Chris was smart and funny with a quick sense of humor that often left us doubled over in laughter. As he moved forward, Chris struggled to find his place in life and his journey wasn’t an easy one. We do know this about Chris, although he wasn’t always able to display or define the love he had for his family and friends, he did innately, poses it in his heart. There was one very special gift that Chris gave the world. He fathered a child and she is everything she is meant to be. She is beautiful, has the same caring heart as Chris and is smart and funny. Chris was unable to parent her in this life and we pray that God will grant him the wisdom to always be her Guardian Angel. You see, Chris lived with mental health and addiction the better part of his adult life and while this didn’t define him, it does remind us that it takes courage to ask for help and the fight between vulnerability and shame is real.

In his passing, we believe, that Chris would want us to all be courageous with ourselves and with each other. Never missing an opportunity to say, I love you and how can I be helpful to you. Let’s let these thoughts comfort us and always remember that kind and thoughtful little boy and that he has finally found the peace in his life he so longed for.

Chris’s family and friends will celebrate his life when it’s safe to do so. We will hug and laugh and cry with one another and we will always remember, Chris was more than his life’s challenges.
