On October 25, 2022, Christine Ann Richardson passed peacefully with her beloved daughter Elise at her bedside. Affectionately known as "Chris the Plumber" along the arroyos of Santa Fe, she shared a passion for life that didn't come to an end with her death at 71. Her life was full of loved ones, too numerous to name, who will continue to honor her legacy by living with joy and dancing like no one is watching.
With a degree from the University of Buffalo and a vigor for adventure, Chris landed in Santa Fe where the former high school cheerleader and National Honor Society scholar took the path less traveled by first becoming an auto mechanic and then an unconventional artisan working in the plumbing, electrical and construction arts. Her dynamic creativity and deep love of building brought enchanting adobe homes into existence. These living spaces into which she poured her heart, soul, and sweat will be enjoyed forever. Chris was a child of the World, collecting art and traveling widely when not exploring her beloved Northern New Mexico. She lived fully in revelry and hard work with relentlessness, independence, and no regrets.
Chris will forever be remembered in the Santa Fe community and beyond. A celebration of her life is planned for April 29. In the meantime, you can feel her life force by gazing at the Sangre de Christos or catching a glimpse of a soaring hawk.
In Chris's sage words, "Everything is right on schedule".
