Christine Daniel

May 23, 1936 — March 28, 2016

Christine Thelma Rosaline Daniel went home to be with our Lord on Monday, March 28, 2016 at the age of 79.

Christine, a Colorado born native and a resident of Pueblo, Colorado for over 50 years passed away early Monday morning at Avamere Transitional Care & Rehab in Northglenn, Colorado where she had been a resident of the Skilled Nursing Facility since November 2015.

She was born May 23, 1936 in Canon City, Colorado to Chris Ellis Brand Paxton SR. and Thelma Rose Betts. She was the oldest child from a family of four sisters and one brother.

She grew up and moved with her family to Denver, Colorado and attended Lakeview Junior High School in Denver. When Christine was only 17 years of age, her father, Chris Paxton SR, walked away from his wife, his children, and his home and was never seen again. A few months later Christine moved to Pueblo, Colorado and married her first love George Robert Morgan on April 30, 1954.

On January 31, 1956, the couple's first child was born, a girl, Patricia Rose Morgan who only lived 17 days and never left the hospital where she was born, passed away on February 17, 1956. The couple had their baby daughter interned at Mountain View Cemetery in Pueblo, Colorado. Christine's second child, Albert Bob Morgan was born October 16, 1957. Christine was blessed with a second son a few years later, Gary Ellis Morgan born on July 20, 1960. Christine had her youngest child, Carol Linda Morgan who was born on July 21, 1967.

During 1976 Christine and her daughter Carol, became members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Pueblo where they attended church almost every Sunday as well as other weekday church functions despite Christine's challenge of not being able to drive.

Christine's husband, George Morgan passed away in Denver, Colorado on October 15, 1976 after a long battle with Leukemia. George was interned at Mountain View Cemetery in Pueblo, Colorado.

Christine, a widowed mother was now faced with planning her husband's funeral and raising her family on her own.

By June 1978, both of Christine's boys had moved to Denver to enroll in college after graduating High School in Pueblo. This left Christine and Carol, to continue to reside in Pueblo alone.

On December 13, 1979 Christine now faced yet another tragedy when her daughter Carol passed away due to medical complications. Carol was interned at Mountain View Cemetery in Pueblo, Colorado.

On September 13, 1980 Christine married her second husband Alma James Daniel nicknamed Jimmie, who she had met while attending her church at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Pueblo. Unfortunately the couple was only married a short as Jimmie passed away on March 11, 1982. Jimmie was interned at Mountain View Cemetery in Pueblo, Colorado. Again Christine was alone one more time but still continued to reside in Pueblo.

In 1990 Christine managed to twist a few arms and had a dog rescued from an animal shelter in Pueblo. The dog went through training to become a service dog before coming to live with her. She named him Max. Max was no small dog, he was a black Newfoundland tipping the scales around 150 pounds "Sweetness of temperament was Max's hallmark."

The pair became inseparable and rode buses and taxis, went shopping together, attended State Fairs, regularly attended Square Dances as well as attended church every Sunday. Eventually Max developed a medical condition that caused him to have seizures had to be given medications for it by his mom, Christine. In 2007, one night while attending to his business outside, Max had a seizure, he became confused, wandered away from home and was struck and killed by a car. The only thing that Christine had left from her faithful companion was fond memories and an empty harness. Christine, once again found herself living alone in her home in Pueblo for the next seven years.

In December 2014 Christine was moved from her apartment in Pueblo, where she had resided in the same apartment for the last 35 years to Denver into an Assisted Living due to failing health conditions.

For almost 40 years Christine had been a member and a faithful servant of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and attended her last church service in Northglenn two weeks prior to her passing with assistance by church Elders pushing her to church in her wheelchair.

Christine was preceded in death by her father, Chris Paxton SR., her mother, Thelma Keiser, her sisters, Dorothy Elaine Stevens and Louise Elsie Carter, her brother, Chris Paxton JR., her daughters Carol Linda and Patricia Rose, her two husbands, George Morgan and Alma Daniel, and a granddaughter, Patricia DeAnne Morgan of Irving Texas.
