Christie Dean

July 11, 1976 — December 17, 2020

Christie Rochelle Pope was born on July 11, 1976 to Ron and Nancy Pope in Englewood, Colorado. As a child, Christie loved playing with her siblings and being outdoors. She loved to read, and study and she developed a deep love for Jehovah that culminated in her symbolizing her dedication in baptism on June 22, 1991. In time, Christie developed another love for her 1984 Honda Accord that she spent three years pioneering in. Christie loved people and loved to tell them about Jehovah’s wonderful promises that he holds out for mankind in the future (Is 25:8). At the tender age of 19, she also found a profession that she would perform for nearly the rest of her life as an assistant to an oral surgeon. Christie was never squeamish when it came to surgeries and medical procedures.

Christie married Chapman Dean on October 10, 1998 and had two children that were her absolute pride and joy, Cameron and Carissa. Christie loved to travel, camp, fish, and to go bowling with her family. She enjoyed working on all sorts of arts and crafts, while watching game shows on TV. Christie especially loved to play cards, any type of cards, and always traveled with a deck of playing cards, just in case. She will forever be remembered for asking “Do you want to play cards?”.

Christie’s life changed forever on February 27, 2012 when she suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm while on vacation in San Diego, California. She spent one month in the hospital in California and two months at Craig Hospital in Englewood, Colorado. Christie fought for her life and went through months of rehabilitation to get back to as normal of a life as possible. She continued to enjoy life and viewed every day as precious. She was extremely proud to see both of her children symbolize their dedication in baptism and her son graduate from high school.

Christie fell asleep in death on December 17, 2020. She can declare the words of 2 Timothy 4:7 “I have fought the fine fight, I have run the race to the finish, I have observed the faith.” Christie never liked goodbyes, so instead she would always say “I’ll see you in just a few minutes.” We are confident we will see her again very soon. She is survived by her husband Chapman, son Cameron and daughter Carissa, her parents Ron and Nancy and her siblings Aaron, Jeff, and Laura. She will be missed by all for her fun-loving spirit and her ability to always put a smile on your face.

Memories of Christie brings joy to us in so many ways. Feel free to share a memory you may have of her below for her family and friends to cherish in the coming weeks.
