Charles "Chuck" Richard Mueller, 74, of Broomfield, passed away Saturday, October 31, 2015, at North Suburban Medical Center due to complications from his life-long battle with diabetes. He died peacefully, surrounded by his family, listening to his favorite Frank Sinatra songs. Chuck leaves behind his beloved wife of 50 years, Leilani; his son, Jeffrey, and his wife, Janna; his son Gregory, and his wife, Jamie; and his furry canine friend, Susie.
Chuck was born in Elmhurst, Illinois, on January 11, 1941, to Harry and Esther Mueller. Chuck eventually moved to Boulder, Colorado, where he graduated from the University of Colorado. Lani and Chuck married in 1965 and welcomed their first son, Jeff, in 1971, followed by Greg in 1975. The consummate family man, Chuck was devoted to being a father and shared his love of baseball and the Chicago Cubs with his sons. Chuck took great pride in Jeff's and Greg's achievements, in baseball and in life, and loved spending time with them and their families.
All those who remember Chuck will think of a man with endless optimism, a mischievous sense of humor, and a talent for remembering dates that would make any history buff envious. He will be undoubtedly missed, but his family takes comfort in knowing that he rests with his Lord, Jesus Christ. A private memorial is planned for November 12 on Flagstaff Mountain. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association in memory of Charles Mueller.
