Charles Cobb

Charles Howard Cobb passed away due to complication from COVID pneumonia on October 20th 2021 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette Colorado. He was born to Cecil and Mrs. Athelin Cobb at Fort Sam Houston, TX. Where his father was enlisted in the US Army. During this period, Cecil was posted at the Pentagon to White Sands, New Mexico; moving the family around the United States, post war Germany and Okinawa Japan. The family returned from overseas to Fort Huachuca Army Post, AZ in the 50’s. Charles attended Tombstone High School. He worked and saved up his own money to attend New Mexico Military institute and transferred his sophomore year in 1959. He graduated from there and continued his education at the University of Arizona. He Graduated from U of A with a Business Administration degree focused on marketing as the university’s president of the Marketing Club.

He received his commission as a 2ndLt. In June 1966 and reported for active duty to Fort Knox Army Post, Kentucky. Charles trained young men in battlefield tactics for the conflict in Vietnam. He was transferred to Fort Carson Army Post, Colorado Springs, Colorado.

He left the Army in June 1968 as a 1stLt. and soon after joined Rivera Cabinets working with Buck Maloney. They became good colleagues and friends up to Charles’ passing. In the early 70’s he transferred with his first family to the Denver area. Charles worked for several years in the kitchen & bath remolding industry winning recognition by the industry for kitchen and bath designs. He went into business for himself in the industry, not once, but twice providing custom kitchen & baths for homes along the Colorado Front Range.  Additionally, Charles worked in different capacities on investments & in the financial services industry with his friend Frederick Hornick and Tim Bliss whom he was a close friends with up till the end. Charles and Lucile, his Wife of the last 28 years chose different locales in the last several years of their lives to include Utah, Arizona and Colorado for business and in support of family. They settled in Colorado as his career wound itself down and were living in Broomfield at the time of his passing.

He is survived by his wife Lucile Cobb. Children; Frederick from his first marriage to Frances. His 2 adopted children; David, Shannon along with Krista & Shawn he had with Kathleen from his second marriage. Lucile’s Children; Lisa, Robert, Lonnie & Richie preceded in passing in 2019, all from a previous marriage. There are 20 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Siblings; Ann Creek, Stephen Wood & Jon. His younger brother William preceded him in passing in January 2021. He is also was preceded in death by his parents, MAJ. (Ret.) Cecil and Mrs. Athelin Cobb. Lastly, another dear friend, Ronald Alan Woerpel preceded Charles in passing a few years back.

Charles joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was a devout and faithful member. He freely shared his faith with those who would lend a kind ear.

Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 1250 Main St. Broomfield, Colorado on November 18th, 2021 with visitation starting at 10:00. Services will follow a brief prayer just before 11:00. Followed by a luncheon at noon. Charles will be interred with full military honors at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 4400 W. Kenyon Ave. Denver, CO. The ceremony will start at 2:30 sharp. Family and Friends are strongly encouraged to arrive 15 minutes prior to ceremony. Enter on north end of the cemetery off West Kenyon Avenue and convene at staging area “D”. Signs will provide directions once on location. We will gather there for a vehicle caravan to the final ceremony pavilion.
