Carolyn Shepherd

Carolyn A. Shepherd, a life long Donelson resident, passed away at the age of 74 in her home on October 26,2020. She died of natural causes.Carolyn is proceeded in death by her mother, Francis Griggs-Minor, and her father, Melvin Layne.Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Susan Herron, and her son, James Shepherd, six grandchildren – RachaelHerron of Tennessee, Marcus Shepherd of Florida, Joseph Herron of Tennessee, Ashlyn Ramsey of Texas,Jordan Shepherd of Texas, Julia Shepherd of Florida, one great-grandchild, Hadley, and one due very soon,Mavrick.Carolyn started her career in 1975 as a secretary at the Tennessee State Law Enforcement Training Academy.In the early 1980s, she worked for Nashville-Davidson County Metropolitan Police Department/CriminalInvestigation Division. She then worked at the Tennessee State Legislation as a secretary before returning tothe Department of Safety, where she retired after 25 years of service.A private service with family & close friends will be announced at a later time.With our deepest gratitude and greatest appreciation to Carolyn’s life long friend of 53 years, Donna Mitchell.A special thanks to Kevin and Mindy at Lakeshore Heartland Senior Community/ Christian Towers for assistance duringthis difficult time.
