Carolyn Boshnyak was a beloved wife and mother. She had many different passions, from taking care of children in her home to travelling to writing and cooking. Mom also loved music, always singing hymns and other simple songs, such as "You are My Sunshine" with us. She was grateful for learning sign language as well and loved to share her love for words with her children. At one time, Mom ran a successful home day care called "The Shoe", named after the nursery rhyme "The Old Woman Who Lived in a Shoe". She especially loved to travel and taste different restaurant menu samples, then share her experiences through writing and storytelling with her family. Known as Grams, Mama Carolyn, Mom C, Mom, Carolyn, C, Momma, Mama, Momsey, among a few others, we all loved to hear her stories whether they are about her growing up adventures or travelling, or even about food and cooking. Mom loved family time and taught us to cherish each other and enjoy the little things. We learned the importance of family sharing a meal around the table, how special it is to cook together in the kitchen, and the beauty of the world around us from our Mom. We all went to her for several different kinds of advice, such as which seasonings to put in a certain dish, sharing recipes, and how to take care of our own children. Some of our fondest memories with Mom are teatime. She loved to get her pretty teacups out and have tea and scones with all of us, even the grand children. Mom loved the color yellow, yellow roses, lilacs, and many other flowers. When we see flowers, we think of Mom. We are sad we can no longer do these things with her, but we rejoice that she is in a better place of no more pain and only love with Jesus, eternally. We shall carry these memories and many more in our minds and hearts for as long as we live.
