Carole Cartier

Carole Bulkeley Cartier, 78, passed from this life May 4th, 2017 to join her parents Claire and Margaret Cartier and to rest in the arms of the Lord. Carole leaves behind her sister Lynne Cottrell (Bo), children Mark, Shayne and Wendy Baltimore, grandson Austyn Baltimore, niece Holly Aragon and nephew Ian Buchanan.

Carole was born August 24, 1938 in East Grand Rapids, Michigan. She attended East Grand Rapids High School, Grier School for Girls in Pennsylvania and Grand Rapids Junior College.

A woman of many talents, Carole lived a life that was certainly eclectic, full of color and textures that provided the music of and color of life we all seek to enjoy. As a young girl she excelled in tennis, dancing, ice skating, even roller skating and sailing. But her greatest gift was as a jazz pianist! She played and sang professionally with her "EB Carole" Trio in Grand Rapids and, after moving to Denver in 1967 could often be heard filling in at the piano bar at the legendary Lafittes in downtown Denver. With an entrepreneurial spirit, she opened and ran her very trendy Cherry Creek Needlepoint Gallery which provided a consistent and loyal customer base and appreciable success. Not to be outdone by retirement, she became a volunteer extraordinaire at Porter Hospital and at the Porter Thrift Shop for the last eight years. She became an institution within Porter and gained the respect of not only the other volunteers but the senior leadership of the medical center as well.

Carole will be sadly missed by her family and many friends for her kindness, generosity, compassion for others and especially her wonderful humor.

She certainly left her foot print in the sand of life that no ocean wave will soon diminish.
