Carol Gibson

November 29, 1920 — February 6, 2016

Beloved mother, grandmother and friend, Carol S Gibson died peacefully on February 6, 2016 in Centennial, CO. Carol was born in Raritan, NJ on November 29, 1920. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert A Gibson, who she married on October 29, 1949 in Martinsville, NJ and she was widowed in 1964.

She is survived by her son, Herb Gibson, and daughter in law, Carol Himmel; her daughter, Carol Hoffman and son in law Robert Hoffman; granddaughters Hayley and Madison Hoffman and grandsons Daniel and Ben Gibson.

Carol spent half of her life in NJ raising her children while working for Johns Manville Corporation who in 1972 transferred her to Denver, CO which was an exciting adventure for Carol to move west. Carol retired from Johns Manville in 1985. She lived in Centennial, CO where she enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, gardening, bowling, and spending time with her children and grandchildren who she adored. Carol especially liked entertaining friends and family. She was a member of the Mount Rosa chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) where she was treasurer and flag official. Carol loved watching the Broncos and was a great hostess for many games and Super Bowl parties. She was an extremely caring friend and companion, always willing to help someone in need. Her good nature and kindness will be missed by family and friends.

A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Heart Association.
