On Super Bowl Sunday (February 1st, 2015), Carol Ann Flohr, passed away from complications of pancreatic and liver cancer. She was an incredible mostly-single-mother, wife, sister, aunt, coworker, and friend to many. She would constantly put the needs of others in front of her own, and really did try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt. She lived by the motto: treat others the way that you would wish to be treated. She was a hard worker and selfless to the end. Carol will be sincerely missed by both her family of blood and her family of choice.
There will be a memorial service held in Carol's honor on Saturday, February 7th, 2015. The service will be very informal, for the most part, where people may come and go freely as they wish. The Salem United Church of Christ will be open for Carol's mourners from 5:00-8:00 PM. For those who would prefer a more structured event, a eulogy will be given at 6:00 PM, followed by refreshments. Nothing but one's presence is being requested, but if anyone feels compelled to gift flowers or other tokens of appreciation, we will be collecting donations on behalf of Denver Hospice. The fine people of Denver Hospice treated Carol and her family with dignity and respect in the last month of her battle with cancer.
Attendees are being asked to wear brightly colored clothes to celebrate Carol's life and impact on others.
