Carol Bowman

d. April 29, 2017

Carol Jean Bowman, our dear sister, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2017.  Her body and spirit were weary and she was ready to travel home.

There will be no service; Carol asked that her ashes be scattered “in the mountains when the ladybugs return.”
Carol was undoubtedly the smartest of the four Bowman kids.  Her bright ideas were exciting and could also get her into trouble in a hurry.  One of our hens was her science project.  Carol killed the old gal then revived her with electric shock.  Everyone was tickled to see her walking the hen on the WNMU campus during the state competition.  Growing up on a farm and having 4-H friends and activities were an important part of her childhood.  Carol was bright and enthusiastic and shared her smile with everyone she met.
We “Bowman girls” and Norman were raised in the Primitive Baptist Church of Cottonwood and Artesia, NM.  As young children, we began raising our voices in joyful praise of the Lord.  Our church family, led by Elder Gerald Hand, gave the congregation’s children the opportunity to lead singing and to learn harmony using shaped notes.  However, Norman was no singer.  Carol’s love of music and the fundamentals learned in our church were the foundation for her many years of singing in school and in church choirs.

Carol dearly loved her children, Jason, Marissa, Shane and Sondra, her grandchildren, siblings and parents.  Carol had many wonderful experiences with members of Momma’s large extended Brown Family, Daddy’s Bowmans and the families of the people who helped Daddy farm.

If you like to make a contribution in Carol’s memory, it may be sent to:  Bro. Jerry Fossey, 571 Star Villa Cir. SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124, for the Albuquerque Primitive Baptist Church Fund.
“Precious memories, how they linger.  How they ever soothe my soul….”
