Carmela Barbero

Carmela Christina Barbero age 40, a resident of Santa Fe born on September 26, 1977 passed away peacefully on February 11, 2018.  She was preceded in death by her father Gilbert Barbero; daughter Brianna Carrillo; father of her children Lawrence Carrillo; aunt to her children Barbara Carrillo; special uncle Celestino Barbero; aunts Evelyn, Joanne and Georgia; grandparents Joe and Cecilia Barbero and Ernesto and Ramona Ortiz; Nino Ruben Rodriguez; cousins Maria Moreno and Richard Rodriguez; plus many loving aunts and uncles.  Carmela enjoyed writing poems, prayers, joking around and nature.  She loved conversations, was a big animal lover, shopping and being with her family and friends all the time.  She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.  She is survived by her loving mother Angie Barbero; sister Gloria Barbero-Martinez (Dessie); brother Manuel Barbero, Fiance (Angelique); daughter Akisha and son L J; nephews Cisco (Cheyenne), Luke and Manny; great niece Autumn; godson Dessie Jude Martinez; extended family Jenny, Celia (Val), Lupe godmother, Val (Brenda), Carmen, Lena(Andrew), Tina, James (Liz), Joseph(Donna), Virginia, Frank(Vina); grandparents to her children Desi (Annie); godbrothers Julian (Fernanda) Jacob; plus many other loving relatives, family, cousins and friends.  A rosary will be recited on Monday February 26, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi in Santa Fe with a memorial mass to follow at 10:00 a.m.   A reception will follow immediately after the mass at Crispin Hall with burial to follow at 2:30 p.m. at Cementerio de Agua Fria. Pallbearers; beloved brother Manuel Barbero and beloved nephew Cisco Barbero. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be sent to help with funeral expenses.
