Carl Petter Sverre passed away March 8 at the age of 91. Born in Oslo, he lived through the Nazi occupation of Norway. After serving the Norwegian Army, he studied at GM Tech in Michigan and, upon completion of his studies, he visited Santa Fe on Thanksgiving in 1956. He stayed, and soon met and married Carmen Quintana of Agua Fria Street, with whom he had three children: Carl Jr., Liv, and Erik.
In addition to serving in the US Army, Carl was among the skiing enthusiasts that began the Santa Fe Ski Basin, including as director of the ski school. Later he worked with his brother-in-law Pete Quintana until his retirement in 1994.
He is predeceased by his sons. He is survived by his daughter, Liv, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
