Carl Edward Jones

Carl Edward Jones, a man whose life was defined by his deep love for horses, his devotion to

his beloved dog Blue, and his passion for working with his hands, passed away peacefully on

March 27, 2025, at the age of 84.

Born in Brinkley, Arkansas, on July 24, 1940, Carl was the son of Percy and Ruth Jones. From a

young age, he was drawn to the outdoors, where he developed a lifelong connection with the

land, horses, and the simple, fulfilling work of gardening. His hands were always busy.

Carl was also deeply committed to his professional life, working with Denver Public Schools for

28 years. Known for his dependable nature, Carl was always ready to help, and his quiet

strength and work ethic inspired those around him.

Throughout his life, Carl remained a kind, hardworking, and humble man, known for his

generous heart, integrity, and willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need. His work ethic was

unmatched, and his contributions to those around him will not be forgotten.

Carl is survived by his wife, Diane Simmons, and children, Karen Jones Brooks, Brett Jones,

Tanoa (Robert) Poirier, Nikki (Sean) Trammell, Timothy (Gina) Paulus, Thomas (Holly) Paulus,

Michelle Yuastella, and grandchildren Verdell, Danielle, Christopher (Amy), and Kandiss Jones,

Parker and Phoenix Trammell, Joseph (Erica) Yuastella, Ashley Paulus, Amanda (Ryan) Hozer,

Katarina (Chris) Davis, Timothy Paulus Jr., and Kennedy (Elora) Paulus, along with 15 great-

grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Percy and Ruth; brothers, Charles and

DeLloyd; sister, Patricia; and son-in-law, Peter Yuastella.

We will miss his steady presence, quiet wisdom, and love for life's simple pleasures. He leaves

behind a legacy of hard work, a deep passion for the horses he cared for, and a devotion to

the beauty of the natural world.
