Caralee Stanley

April 18, 1926 — December 15, 2016

Caralee "Carrie" Richins Stanley entered Lutheran Medical Center hospital in Wheat Ridge, CO on December 10th 2016 and went to be with the Lord on December 15th 2016. We want to thank the doctors and nurses for their dedicated and compassionate care during that time.

Carrie was born April 18, 1926 to Gladys E Ward and Marland Lumon Richins Sr. in Virden, New Mexico. Of 5 children, Carrie was the only daughter. Brothers: (Marland Lumon "Mel" Richins Jr., Ward Richins, Adrian Richins, Melbourn Richins). She was a second mom to them.

Carrie celebrated her 90th birthday in April with two amazing birthday parties. She still enjoyed playing Bingo, monthly lunch with the church ladies and watching sports, especially baseball (Rockies), football (Broncos) and tennis. She finished the race with grace, enthusiasm and with her torch still lit!

On July 22, 1944 she married John K. Woodworth in Salt Lake City, Utah. During their marriage they had three children, Joan, Jean, and Charles M. K. "Ken" Woodworth. They moved to Colorado in 1947. John and Carrie were later divorced.

On October 18, 1983 Carrie married Doug Stanley. Doug passed away in 1991 and Carrie's final resting place is beside Doug at Ft Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado. After Doug's passing, Carrie became very involved in Friends of Hospice of Metro Denver and served many years as their President.

Carrie is survived by her brother Melbourn (Jan) Richins of Animas, NM., her three children: Joan Clark Lakewood Colorado, Jean (Dave) Griswold Castle Rock, Colorado, and Ken (Bunny)Woodworth of Chesapeake, VA., her grandchildren: Donald Smith, Tracy Smith, Dodie Cyr, Scott (Kim) Smith, Kathy Notary, Tim (Debbi) Griswold, Jeff (Deana) Griswold, Jason (Vanessa) Woodworth, Deserae (Terry) Brunsen, Seth (Kristina) Woodworth, Colt (Marina) Woodworth, West Woodworth, Clay Woodworth, Jennifer (Tom) Naccari Super;19 Great-grandchildren, 6 Great-Great-grandchildren and many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and their families.

Preceded in death by: Parents, Gladys Ward and Marland Lumon Richins, Sr.; husband, Doug Stanley, brothers & sisters-in-law, Marland Lumon "Mel" (Vaunie) Richins, Jr., Ward (Ginger) Richins, Adrian (Vivian) Richins, Beth Richins.

A memorial service in celebration of the Carrie's life will be held Wednesday, January 04, 2017 11:00 am at the LDS church located at 12995 West 72nd Ave, Arvada, CO 80005.

We invite family and friends to join in a luncheon at the church following the service.
