Bryan Martinez was born on July 24, 1972 to Abraham Martinez and Naomi Martinez (Adame) in Los Angeles, California and he died on March 7, 2021 at the age of 49. His family lived in California and also in Texas while he was growing up. When his sister came along when he was 12 years old, he took on the responsibility of looking out for his little sister and encouraged her to meet his goals. He took on a lot of responsibilities in his family as a teenager by working and looking out for his family. He was baptized when he was 12. Although he always struggled in his faith, he loved Jesus and enjoyed listening to the Bible while he worked. He loved to study everything from Eastern Medicine, knife making, music, theater and Tozer. Bryan met his wife Judith (Cohoon) Martinez at the Christian Club at Long Beach Poly High School and began a friendship which led to love and they were married December 22, 1992. Together they had seven children, Amanda, Matthew (who married Rebecca), Sarah, Alex, Helen, Stuart and Bridget. Some of his greatest joys were baptizing his oldest 4 children and watching his oldest son get married in October of 2017. He served in the Army from October 1992 until April 1995 when he was honorably discharged. Judith and Bryan lived in California, Arizona and South Texas and eventually settled in Colorado. He loved the views of the Rockies and the cooler weather. Throughout his life, Bryan worked many different jobs and did what he had to do to provide for his family but he found the greatest joy providing others comfort through massage therapy. He completed his Associates of Occupational Studies in Massage Therapy from Colorado School of Healing Arts in 2007. Bryan is survived by his wife, 7 children, 1 daughter in law, his sister Ruth (Martinez) Blackwell, and his Mother and Father.
A celebration of life will be held at Church of South Denver 2288 S Tennyson St, Denver, CO 80219 on April 10, 2021 at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be given to Bridgepoint Counseling in his honor. bridgepointcounseling.org
