Brenda Sue (Dinning) Murphy, age 71, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025, in Westminster, Colorado. She was born on June 19, 1953, in Portsmouth, Virginia.

Brenda was the beloved daughter of Ray Gene Dinning and Nelda Marie (Nelson) Dinning. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Cindy Boeger; and two cherished grandchildren, Casey Quagliano and Callie McMillan.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Brian (Debbie) Quagliano of Colby, Kansas; Jamie Heyen of Northglenn, Colorado; Justin Schiltz of Fort Morgan, Colorado; and Rebecka (Donnie) Kirk of Holcomb, Kansas. Brenda’s legacy continues through her grandchildren: Nathan (Courtney) Quagliano; Sabryn (fiancé Tyler Oren) Quagliano; Sammy (Maddy) McMillan; Alex McMillan; Taylor (Tyler) Drew; Brendan Schiltz; Ethan McMillan; and Korben Kirk. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Charlie Shull, Braxton McMillan, Price Quagliano, Tripp Drew, and Zane Oren.

Brenda had a passion for sewing and quilting, creating treasured handmade pieces that reflected her warmth and creativity. Time spent with family—and her beloved pets—brought her deep joy.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Methodist Church located at 950 S. Franklin in Colby, Kansas. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Oakley Cemetery, 3083 County Road A, Oakley, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, at the request of the family, memorial contributions to assist with funeral costs may be made to Brian Quagliano at 905 East 6th, Colby, KS 67701.
