Brenda Lockhart

December 20, 1948 — November 4, 2018

Brenda Joyce Blouin was born to Roseann and John Blouin Sr. on December 20, 1948 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. At the age of five, she moved to Denver, Colorado with her family; shortly after she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior.

During her adolescent years in school she received numerous academic awards. She graduated at 17 years old from Manual High School in Denver, Colorado. After high school, Brenda went to technical school for medical assistant as well as technical writing and bookwork.

In 1971, she reconnected with a friend from school, Thomas Elias Lockhart II and they later went on to marry shortly thereafter. To that union, they had a son, Thomas Elias Lockhart III. Brenda and Thomas were very happy, and they loved their son dearly. Thomas Lockhart II departed this life at age 39 on March 3,1986. In 1990, Brenda adopted a beautiful one month old baby girl, and named her Clarissa Jae Lockhart. Brenda raised Thomas and Clarissa to adulthood. She was thankful and full of praise over both of their accomplishments.

Brenda loved to sing, and she trained in the operatic vocal range. Just ask anyone, she was a servant and would help anyone in need. She had heart for the sick and shut in. She was a teacher, teaching Sunday school for over two decades. She loved to worship, attending services all around the country and abroad.

Brenda went on to work for a small agency doing clerical work. She later worked with the City of Denver, and retired from that position with over twenty years of service. While there, she won the employee of the year award for her exceptional service. As a servant, she wanted to continue to help others, and went on to work for Home Instead after retirement, where she stayed until her passing.

"Mom Brenda" was a relentless entrepreneur who enjoyed making crafts, as well as, sharing her natural products for health and wellness. She enjoyed wearing different stylish hats, and was a die-hard Denver Broncos fan!!

Thomas and his wife Mona have two children, Brenda's grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time and training them up. If they were on program, Brenda was in attendance.

On November 4, 2018, Brenda went home to be with the Lord. Brenda leaves to cherish her memory her son Thomas Elias (Mona LaTrice) Lockhart III (Denver CO), daughter, Clarissa J. Lockhart (Denver, CO) two grandchildren Hope Malia-Camille Lockhart and Simon Elias Lockhart (Denver,CO), sister Karen (Derek) Clay, (Alpharetta Ga.), brother John Daryl Blouin, (Sandy Springs Ga.) and play-sister Pamela Harris (Denver, CO) , and a host of aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends.
