Bonnie passed quietly and on her own terms after almost 87 years. Her legacy lives on through her sons and daughters, Keith & Vicki Sperring, Sue Bailey, and Jeff & Laurey Sperring, her grandchildren Kerri, Kimberly, Baylea, Austin and Raleigh and her great-grandchildren, Dustin, Caleb, Callan, Leni, and Miller. She now joins her grandson, Jeffrey, in heaven.
She lived a courageous, loving, family-centric life. Born and raised in Scott Township she lived the bulk of her life in Mt. Lebanon, both suburbs of Pittsburgh. She maintained a house that was always open to family and friends for either short visits or longer-term stays. The last twenty plus years she lived with Keith & Vicki in both California and Colorado and was surrounded there by family and friends as well.
She was a walking encyclopedia of memories and dates. And when your dad was one of 13 children and your mom was one of 6, that is a lot of dates, names and memories! She loved to read. She loved to bake and taught us all how to make Christmas sugar cookies! She picked up card-making later in life and loved spending time with her card-making group. She was an avid sports fan who logged many hours watching her family play sports as well as watching Pittsburgh sports and especially her beloved Steelers. She loved her family and we all loved her.
Thank you for your many lessons, always willing to listen, your kind heart, strong will, and beautiful soul. We miss you Bonnie, Aunt Bonnie, Gramma, Mum.
Please honor Bonnie with a donation to her favorite charity the Wounded Warrior Project.
