Billy Burkhart

Billy Joe Burkhart, age 92 of Bull Shoals, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021 in Littleton, Colorado.

Bill was born in Stonewall, Oklahoma to John and Flossie Burkhart.  Bill joined the United States Army where he served as Sgt. First Aid Attendant and received an Army Occupation Medal (Germany).

Following his time in the service Bill was united in marriage to Ruth Elnora Shipman June 19, 1953.

He was a loving, devoted, determined guardian as a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  He served his church and community with love and kindness to all who crossed his path for many years.  Retired from building homes, most knew him as a great carpenter and well-respected human being.

Bill is survived by two daughters, Teresa Morgan of Colorado and Daleca Burkhart of Arkansas; two granddaughters, Crystal Jansen and husband Josiah of Colorado and Stephanie Paxton and husband Frank of Arkansas; one Great-Grandson JJ of Colorado; three great-granddaughters, Nichole, Haley & Zoey of Arkansas; brother-in-law Charles Shipman and wife Shirley of Arkansas; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Shipman and Barbara Burkhart of Oklahoma; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bill is preceded in death by his wife Ruth, parents, and brother Dub Burkhart.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday March 30, 2021 at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Oklahoma City, OK with Pastor Terry Davis.
