Betty Williams

Betty Lou Williams previously of Jefferson City, MO and Co-owner of The Flower Hut and Heart's Desire of Osage Beach, MO for some 20 years passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at the age 72. Betty was a daughter, a sister, a sister-in-law, a wife, a mother, a grandmother and a great grandmother. Betty is preceded in death by her Husband, Roy Gene Williams; Grandson, Dexter Lee Rodden; Father, Edward Columbus Hill; Mother, Betty Virginia Hill; brother Michael Hill; Sisters, Linda Hill and Laurie Hill. Betty is survived by her son, Kurtis Gene Williams and his wife, Lisa, of Holts Summit, MO; her daughter, Judith Ann Willliams-Fitzgerald and her husband, Larry, of Nashville, TN; 1 Grandson, Kolt Garrett Williams, of Potosi, MO; 6 Step-Grandchildren of, Missouri, Tennessee, Florida and New York; and 8 Step-Great-Grandchildren; her Sister, Lisa Hill Durham; and her brothers, Jim Hill, Ed Hill and John Pat Hill Born July 9, 1945 in Alexandria, VA she grew up the eldest of 8 children and the family soon settled in Jefferson City, MO where Betty attended Jefferson City High School. Soon after, she met the man she would call her husband, Roy Gene Williams. She met Roy Gene when she was working at Tony's Drive-In on the East End. At first she could not stand this smug arrogant hot-rodding boy. However, she ended up marrying that smug arrogant hot-rodding boy in 1963 and soon after in 1964 gave birth to their first child, Kurtis Gene Williams. The blonde haired, blue-eyed boy that stole his mother's heart. Then a short 4 years later they had their second child, Judith Ann Williams, who was the apple of her daddy's eye. Together they were a family of laughter and tears, good times and bad, but always managed to maintain to be a family no matter what life had to throw at them. They were still married up to the passing of her husband, Roy Gene Williams in March 2004. In 1981 Betty and Roy opened up their own business known as The Flower Hut originally located in the Capital Mall and when they sold the business in 1992 the business was located on Missouri Blvd. They then moved to Osage Beach, MO and opened a business called Heart's Desire, where they worked side by side for another 7 years. Betty and Roy then closed the business and retired in 2001 however, Betty was not one who would sit still for long. She eventually ended up taking a position as a cashier at the Wal-Mart in Osage Beach, where she worked until she retired in 2016 due to health reasons. IN 2005, Betty met her companion and new love, Nicholas A. Hanson Sr., of Camdenton, MO. They have remained a couple up to her passing and grieves just like the rest of us who knew and loved her. In November 2016, Betty and Nicholas moved from Osage Beach, MO to Nashville, TN to live with her daughter and son-in-law while she received medical treatment for her ailments. Betty never wanted any hype or fuss over her, she simply wanted to live a happy and healthy life filled with love and no drama. However, she lost that battle on July 22, 2017. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 in Jefferson City, Missouri at the Capital City Christian Church in the Fellowship Hall located at 1608 Swifts Hwy, from 2 - 5 p.m. This memorial service will be a Pot Luck Luncheon. Private Family Graveside services will be held on Sunday, August 6th at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens Cemetery at 9:00 a.m..
