Betty was born in Denver in 1938 to Arthur and Velma Osse and lived in the West Denver/ Baker Neighborhood area with her two brothers, Robert and James Osse. She moved to South Denver where she attended Byers Jr High and met her future husband, John Lehr. They both graduated from South High School and in June of 1956 she married the love of her life, and they resided in South Denver. Betty worked for Western Farm Bureau Life Insurance as a secretary for seven years. She then resigned to start their family and was blessed with the birth of a son Robert and daughter, Renee. She enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom and later on went to work for Jefferson County Schools as a secretary in the Therapy Department at Fletcher Miller School. Eighteen years later she retired. Over the years, she and John were blessed with four wonderful grandchildren: Carleen, Talor, Caitlyn, Jordyn and one great grandson Wyatt.
The greatest moment in her life was in 1970 she received Jesus Christ as her Savior and
Lord…it was a life changing moment for her. Over the years she served in various church ministries. Betty enjoyed fishing, waterskiing, camping, RVing and traveling and loved spending time with her family. Betty is survived by her husband John, brother Jim Osse (Melanie) son Robert Lehr (Renae Lehr), daughter Renee Barnes (Mike Barnes), grandchildren Carleen Watts (Kyle Watts), Talor Barnes, Caitlyn Golden (Paul Golden), Jordyn Jensen (Jarod Jensen) and a great grandson Wyatt Watts.
She died peacefully at home, and went to be with the Lord, November 23,2022. Betty was cremated and buried at Littleton Cemetery in Littleton, CO. A family grave side service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: https://www.opendoorsusa.org/about-us/
