Betty Favour

Betty Jean, died peacefully on Sunday the 15th of May at Julia Temple Healthcare Center in Denver Colorado.

Betty was born in Fort Worth, Texas at the South West Hospital on November 5th, 1927. Shortly in her childhood the family moved to Tulsa Oklahoma were she was raised. She graduated from Central High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1945. She worked as an assistant to the Sales Manager at Del Webbs Townhouse Hotel in Phoenix Arizona, and as assistant to the Editor at the San Diego Union Tribune in San Diego California. Family remembers Betty as a dedicated professional who worked 6 days a week sometimes and thoroughly enjoyed her job.

Betty was the daughter of, Max T. Simms, and Alpha L. Simms. She had one brother, Max Jr. Simms. Among her family still alive today, she had two daughters--Paula Johnson, and LeeAnne Faulkner--and she had four loving grandchildren--Hannah Meeker, Zach Meeker, Jeffrey Mills, and Sara Mills. Also one great grandchild Trystan Mills and another, in the oven, on the way.

Betty was married more than once. Her last husband was Craig Staetter and they were married on March 10, 1997 at the Enchanted Garden Chapel in Palm Springs, California. They were happily married for six years and lived in San Diego California.

Starting at the age of four, Betty was an accomplished pianist. She played the piano beautifully throughout her life - playing public recitals, for her own entertainment, and the enjoyment of others. She loved to golf, sail, the beach and gardening with her husband in San Diego. She had a loving relationship with all her family members, and was given the nickname "Mamma".

Celebration of life/Memorial for Betty will be held at Horan and McConaty, 1091 S Colorado Blvd, Denver Colorado 80246, June 16th 2016 at 10AM. In celebration of Betty's life, you are encouraged to wear Jackie O style sunglasses. In lieu of flowers, please contribute Mile High Church and write (Recovery Ministry/Favour) on the check.
