Bertram Mutch

August 1, 1948 — November 27, 2016

Bertram "Sinclair" Mutch, age 68 died on Sunday, November 27, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 1, 1948 to Bertram and Lily Mutch in Lossiemouth, Scotland. At the age of two he immigrated to the United States with his parents and his sister, Patricia. The family settled in Fairacres, NM becoming a staple of the community through ownership of a local grocery and gas station called "Scotty's Dixie and Grocery". Over the next few years they grew to love the people and town and on June 13, 1958 became citizens. Upon graduation from Las Cruces High School, Sinclair married his high school sweetheart, Jean Hamilton. They celebrated 50 years together in August of this year.

Sinclair began his career as a lineman for Mountain Bell Telephone in Gallup NM expanding into all areas within the phone industry. In the early 1980's his passion for computers led to his eventual career in Information Technology. In 1986 he moved his family to Colorado. The remainder of his career encompassed extensive travel within the US and Canada where he was a management consultant to call centers for large phone companies.

In October of 1967, Sinclair and Jean began their family with the birth of their son, Scott. Soon after, they added sons Trevor and Brandon. In 1994 they completed their family with the addition of daughter, Nicole.

In the early 1990's they began a 20-year adventure as foster parents and impacted the lives of hundreds of children. Sinclair was an extremely nurturing father whether it was with his own children, the foster children in his care or his two grandchildren, Brandon Jr. and Ryder who were the true joys of his life.

Besides computers, Sinclair's primary hobby was photography. He spent his life behind the lens of his camera photographing weddings, graduations and athletic events for family, friends and just about anyone who asked.

Sinclair is survived by his wife, Jean; sons Scott, Trevor (Misty), Brandon (Amber) and daughter Nicole; his two grandsons, Brandon Jr. and Ryder; his sister, Patricia Mills and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew United Methodist Church Chapel, 9203 S. University Blvd, Highlands Ranch, CO at 3:00 pm Friday, December 2, 2016. If desired, a donation can be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
