Celebration of Life service for Barry W Gibson of Aurora, CO will be at 1:00 pm, Tues. Mar. 28th, at the Littleton Church of Christ located at 6495 S Colorado Blvd, Centennial, CO 80121. Pastor Gary Kiwimagi will officiate. A private family celebration for the sprinkling of ashes will be determined later.
Barry passed away Wednesday, March 8th, 2017. He suffered many years with Lupus and other health issues but always enjoyed his time with family and friends. He could often be found in the garage playing golf or joking with his brothers in law over the barbecue or triumphing in a water fight with his nieces and nephews. We cherish the time we had with him.
Barry was born July 5th, 1972 in Denver, Colorado to Larry and Carolyn Gibson. He was the youngest of four siblings. As a Colorado native he spent his childhood in Parker, Colorado and his teenage and adult years in Aurora, Colorado. There he met his lovely wife Kathy and after two years of courtship they married in April of 2002. They were blessed with a beautiful girl they named Amberlee. Barry and Kathy often attended her school plays and enjoyed raising her as a tomboy. They made every effort to support her in all her dreams.
Barry was a jack of all trades, the handy man extraordinaire. There wasn't a project he couldn't do. He loved tinkering in his workshop and you could have gotten lost in his collection of tools. His skills were varied, from rebuilding an old car for his niece to laying pipe to soldiering beautiful crosses for his family. He was gifted in many areas and chose to use those gifts to bless other people's lives. Barry was active at one time with the Lakewood Elks #1777. He served as an officer with his father. At events he could be seen dancing the floors with his beautiful wife, daughter, or mother.
Barry was preceded in death by his father Larry Lee Gibson in 2015. He leaves behind his beloved wife Kathy Dawn Gibson; their precious daughter, Amberlee Sarah Gibson; his mother, Carolyn Gibson; his mother-in-law, MaryLou Carlson; his three sisters LeeAnn Pentico (Chris), Melinda Powers (Sean), and Sharon Kiwimagi (Gary); his brother-in-law, John Brayton; 14 nieces and nephews, Jeremiah, Baylee, Lyndee (David), Hollee, Kallie (Derek), Meghan, Colby, Katherine, David (Alexis), Emily, Carrie; and 2 grandnephews, Blaine and Oliver. He was greatly loved and will be immensely missed.
