Barbara Jones

Barbara Jean Jones of Columbia, TN (“B.J.” to her friends and Aunt Ba to her nieces and nephews) passed away October 16, 2022.

Born and raised in Nashville, Barbara attended Hume Fogg High School and Tennessee Tech. She spent over 30 years with the Metro Government Parks and Recreation division, where she served in many roles during her career. Barbara’s passion was softball, and serving as a mentor to the many teens and children that passed through Nashville’s Metro Parks community centers.

She is preceded in death by brothers Jimmy and Gary Jones and survived by her loving family: brother Tom (Rita) Jones, sisters Nancy Love and Patsy (George) Hunt, 5 nieces and nephews, 7 great nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Scooter. Barbara also had a large circle of friends and a wonderful “neighborhood family” where she spent over 15 years making memories!

She was larger than life and will truly be missed!

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
