Barbara Fox

Barbara Jeanne Mooney Fox passed away on June 18, 2022, after a long struggle with cancer and in the end, acute leukemia. She was 78 years old. She was comforted by her son and daughter, who held her hands along with other close family members. Her last hours were a sweet time of prayer, singing, listening to her favorite music (Slim Whitman!), and sharing memories while looking at pictures from the past.

Barbara loved the mountains of Colorado and climbed most of the “fourteeners” in the state throughout her life. She was a fiercely independent person, was always thirsty for new knowledge, with master's degrees in Audiology and Speech Pathology and Finance. She loved to travel to exotic places and was very proud of her two children and four grandchildren, Jacob, Luke, Natalie, and Nathan.

Barbara is survived by her son, Jackson Leland Fox, III, and his wife, Carol, of Springfield, VA and daughter, Nancy Fox Nickless, and her husband, Paul, of Centennial, CO. She is also survived by her sisters, Marilyn Mooney Phalen and Jane Mooney Harry, and brother, Mike Mooney.
