Barbara Bojarski

Barbara Bojarski, 88, of Centennial, CO passed away on October 12, 2021.  Barbara was born in Independence, OH to Francis Wisnieski and Mary Helen (Cannon) Wisnieski.  Beloved wife of Richard Donald Bojarski (deceased).  Survived by daughters Brigette Bojarski and Noreen Bojarski-Plantz.  Loving Grandmother to Noreen’s children:  Alexander Plantz, Austin Plantz, Avery Plantz, Aedin Plantz and Makenna Plantz.  Loving Grandmother to Brigette’s Yorkie, Caesar.

Barbara grew up in Independence, OH during the depression and her family lived off the land.  She enjoyed working in the garden and has always been the family’s go to person for gardening advice.  She participated in theater in high school, played the drums and loved to ice skate.

Barbara met Richard when his family moved from the “big city” of Cleveland to Independence after he was drafted into the Korean War.  Barbara became his pen pal during his time of service.  They married and moved to Michigan briefly before moving back to Ohio and settling down in Parma.

Barbara enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom and chaperoning school activities.  She enjoyed having the neighborhood kids over and the frequent block parties.  Barbara, also known as Bobbi, and her husband enjoyed traveling and playing cards with friends.  Barbara could always be seen with a book nearby and transferred the love of reading to her grandchildren.

After Barbara’s husband died, she worked in the pharmacy department of Fox Drugstore and then became a policy typist lead in insurance.  She loved going to The Flats in Cleveland and listening to music with friends.  After retiring, Barbara devoted her life to her grandchildren and being a strong advocate for Special Needs Children. She loved watching and reading mysteries in her free time with her grandchildren instilling a natural investigative nature.

Barbara moved out to Colorado with her daughter Noreen and grandchildren to join her other daughter Brigette.  A love of westerns, the mountains and country music (really just Johnny Cash and Billy Ray Cyrus) made the transition to Colorado an easy one for Barbara.  While in Colorado, Barbara enjoyed going to her grandchildren’s school functions and helping them with schoolwork.  Later in life Barbara also became a supporter of LGBTQ rights and the Black Lives Matter movement which made her nephews and daughters proud of her progressive views. Her grandchildren showed their love by attempting to gain access to her room the day of her passing, but it meant so much to Barbara knowing that they tried but COVID requirements prevented it.

She gave up so much in her life helping her family and others.   May she rest in eternal peace.
