Ar-Raheem Rasheed

Ar-Raheem Amin Rasheed otherwise known as Dwayne Allen Mason was born to Hubert Mason Sr and Katherine Adams December 15, 1953, in the city of Denver, Colorado, were he also received his formal education. Dwayne (Raheem) would later join the Navy were he served as a fireman. Soon thereafter, he would pledge his allegiance to the flag of Islam and would change his name to Ar-Raheem Amin Rasheed. Raheem was a loving, caring soul who would sing at the drop of a hat. Anybody who knew him knows how much he loved music, especially jazz music. Raheem was also a musician, and played the percussions on a professional level. Raheem met his untimely demise on January 26, 2023. Raheem is survived by his son, Ahmad Gilchrist of Denver Colorado, grandson ZiYon Syier Ellis of Arlington Texas, one brother Hubert Mason Jr of Arizona, two sisters, Monica Mason of Atlanta Georgia, and Michelle Beauchamp of California. Step mother Beth Mason of Colorado, step sister Pam Avery of Colorado, and a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins. May his memory live on forever in the hearts and minds of those he touched.
