Angeli Traina

November 7, 1952 — July 29, 2016

Angeli Marie Traina, also know as Angie Lowe, Angie Smith, and Angie Hatfield, passed away Friday, July 29, 2016, at Mountain Vista Senior Living Community in Wheat Ridge, Colorado at the age of 63 due to complications from late stage Alzheimer's.

Angie was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on November 7, 1952, but shortly thereafter moved to Southern California, where she married her first husband, Jeff Smith, in 1970. She later divorced and married her second husband, Ted Hatfield on August 9, 1980. Afterwards, she married her current surviving spouse, David Traina, on February 14, 1992.

Angie is survived by her five loving children: Lisa Smith, Chris Hatfield, Sarah Hatfield, T.J. Hatfield, and Wyatt Traina. She lived the majority of her life in Southern California, and enjoyed being on the beach, with Huntington Beach her favorite stomping grounds. She later moved to Arvada, Colorado, where she remained with her husband Dave and youngest son Wyatt until her death.

Above all else, Angie enjoyed helping others, particularly the sick and elderly. It was because of this that she decided to become a Registered Nurse in California, and graduated with a Nursing Degree from College of the Canyons after 4 years of study. She quickly found a job working at Henry Mayo Hospital, where she enjoyed getting to know the patients and making friends wherever she went.

Angie has a great love for chocolate, and frequently has a "stash" of some form hidden throughout the house at all times. However, She believed in the virtues of a healthy lifestyle, and was a constant fixture at the local gym, where she could be found chatting away with the other gym members while giving tips on lifting.

In the end, Angie will be remembered as a loving mother and wife, but also as a women with a lasting legacy to those who knew her: an indomitable will, selfless care for others, a vivacious and contagious manner, and utterly fearless in the face of all odds. It is no surprise that Angie was well loved by all who knew her, and will be greatly missed.
