Amy Eigner

May 13, 1960 — May 28, 2018

Amy DeLuce Eigner passed away surrounded by her family on May 28, after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma. She was 58.

The daughter of Richard and Joanne (Strang) DeLuce of Palos Verdes, California, Amy was born in Los Angeles on May 13, 1960, where she enjoyed an idyllic childhood with her brothers David and Daniel. She attended Stanford University, where she was President of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority and earned a B.A. in History, graduating in 1982. It was while attending Stanford that Amy met her future husband, Dr. Edward (Ted) Eigner and made many life-long friends.

After Stanford, Amy began a career in commercial banking in San Francisco, which she continued after moving to Cleveland while Ted attended medical school. Amy and Ted were married on January 12, 1985 in Los Angeles.

Amy and Ted returned to Stanford in 1986, where Amy rose to Senior Vice President at Bank of California. It was in Palo Alto that Amy and Ted started their family, welcoming their first two children, Sarah Eigner Nickell and Daniel Eigner in 1989 and 1991 respectively. The family of four moved to Littleton, Colorado in 1992, and became of family of five with the birth of their youngest son, Benjamin, in 1995.

Amy was an adored mother and wife, a beloved friend and confidante, and a tireless volunteer. She was passionate about providing college counseling to high school students at Arapahoe High School's post graduate center, fundraising for her children's many extracurricular activities and supporting charitable organizations including The United Way, Stanford University, Stand Up to Cancer and The Myeloma Institute.

Amy was brilliant, joyful and compassionate, with a shrewd sense of humor and an infinite desire to learn. But most of all, Amy loved her children with a remarkable intensity.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Ted, and their three children Sarah Eigner Nickell (Dan), Daniel and Benjamin Eigner, as well as her father Richard DeLuce and her first grandchild, Avery Jane Nickell. A celebration of Amy's life will be held at Columbine Country Club on June 8 at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to UAMS Myeloma Institute and Stand Up to Cancer.
