Almita Darneal Godbolt was born on September 25th, 1967, raised in Trenton, New Jersey. Many knew her as "Mita." She was a vibrant, free spirited, loving, and very protective soul. She relocated to Colorado in 2000 for a better life for herself and her children. She was tragically taken from us at 56 years of age in Aurora, Colorado, on November 5th, 2023.
Almita wore many hats. She was a Daughter, Sister, Niece, Aunt, Mom, Grandma, Partner and a Friend to many. Her work ethic was out of this world and respected by all. The word "Workaholic" doesn't even suit her. She worked harder than most and never stopped.
Those she cared for didn't want for anything. She always gave a helping hand, even if she didn't have it. She's best known for her cooking, compassion for others, her love for her family, illuminating smile, joyous laughter, style, and her neck breaking walk!
But most of all, throughout it all, she always had music playing in her ear while dancing till her heart's content. She was most definitely a party by herself. Music was her salvation and her joy. She always had a knack for seeing the best in people without judgment. Which fueled her spirit and her connection to God. She was a caretaker who uplifted everyone she encountered.
Almita definitely lived up to the meaning of her name, which means "Ambitious." No matter the situation, she always dreamt big and strive to fulfill every dream she had, as well as others! She made ways out of no way, consistently. She had many challenges throughout life, but what was meant to break her made her stronger and more invincible in many ways.
Almita loved very hard and fought even harder for what was right. She was a rare, precious soul that was taken way too soon. Phenomenally unique, strong, funny, extremely wise beyond her years, and had the biggest heart.
She's the daughter of the late Bettie Ruth Godbolt and George Anderson. She is survived by her children Rhonda Godbolt, Sharon Godbolt, Ronald Godbolt and her grandchildren, Ja'Von Godbolt and Cal’Juheir Godbolt. As well as her cats, Milo Godbolt, and the late Theo Godbolt. She's also the sister of Terry Jackson, Mark Jackson, Bryant Jackson, Valerie Williams (Reginald), Paul Daniels Sr. (Katrina), Felicia Godbolt, Sherman Johnson, Kerion Johnson, and the late George Godbolt. She has eleven aunts, Anne McKoy (Rufus), Delores Denson (Louis), Gloria Lee, Stella Godbolt, Judith Morgan (George), Margaret Godbolt, Margaret Anderson, Victoria Steatean, the late Grovetta Steatean, Cecila Anderson, Cynthia Steatean, and four uncles, Ronald Godbolt (Stephanie), Grover Steatean, the late Sylvester Walkens, Irvin Godbold and a host of other relatives and friends.
Almita "Dareal" Godbolt, you will always be in our hearts and never forgotten! Rest well and continue shining brightly in paradise! Mom, we love and miss you endlessly!
