Alfred Stella

September 19, 1941 — January 24, 2016

Alfred "Al" Charles Stella, 74, died Sunday, January 24, 2016 at the Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Aurora, Colorado from congestive heart failure.

He leaves behind a sister, Florence Duren; a nephew, James Duren; and many close friends.

Al was born and raised in North Bergen, New Jersey, the son of Alfred and Lena Stella. He attended Cliffside Park Jr. High School in Cliffside, New Jersey, and was a part of the graduating class of 1956. He graduated high school from Cliffside Park Senior High School in 1959. Al attended college at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, Politics, and Science in June of 1964.

Al moved to Colorado in the 1970s. He began his own business, the Alpha and Omega Investment Brokerage. He not only took pride in his business, but he truly relished the friends he made during his time in business.

Al loved life and enjoyed travelling. He traveled throughout the country, and enjoyed visiting the beautiful mountain towns of Colorado. He enjoyed camping in Rocky Mountain National Park. Al had a passion for classical music, opera, and art. His favorite composer was Ludwig van Beethoven, and he enjoyed hearing the symphony orchestra. His favorite opera singer was Luciano Pavarotti, and Al had a deep appreciation of Luciano's incredible range and beautiful tone of his breathtaking high notes. Al's favorite artist was Vincent Van Gogh and Al himself was quite a talented oil painter. He painted his own version of Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night, paying particular attention to the detail of creating the stars the same way Van Gogh captured them.

Al attended the St. Thomas More Catholic Church where he volunteered and taught classes.

Al's Memorial Service will be held Monday, February 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Horan & McConaty Chapel located at 1091 S. Colorado Boulevard, Denver, Colorado.
