Albert 'AJ' Joseph Mueller entered into eternal peace on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Lutheran Hospital, Wheat Ridge, Colorado. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 53 years, Theresa 'Terry' Barbera Mueller in 2008.
AJ was born on April 27, 1934 in Iowa City, Iowa, the adopted son of Joseph and Josephine Mueller. At the age of seven, the family moved to Denver. He then attended St. Catherine of Siena Catholic School and subsequently North High School. After a tour of duty in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. Piedmont during the Korean war, he married his sweetheart Theresa in February of 1955. He and Theresa donated their time to Holy Family Catholic School in numerous activities and capacities. Both loved music, movies, sports and our beautiful Rocky Mountains. As passionate Broncos, Rockies, Avs and Nuggets fans, they taught their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren the importance of sportsmanship, competition and fair play. Both will be greatly missed.
AJ is survived by 7 children: Russell Barbara, John Maggie, Joseph Leann, Julie Stacy, Jackie Giorgio, Annette Gary and Michael Pam; 16 grandchildren: John Jr., Amby Jon, Christina Billy, Amy Steve, Christopher Megan, Patty Marty, Nicole Mario, Patrick, Natalie, Amber Jon, Ryan, Aleah, Jayci, Michael J., Isaac and Gavin; 10 great-grandchildren: Sydney, Dylan, Dominic, Maddy, Bobby, Abrianna, Annibellah, Samantha, Remy and Luca.
A rosary and mass will be held on Monday, April 15, 2013 with a 9:30 a.m. Rosary and 10:00 a.m. Mass at Holy Family Church, 4377 Utica Street, Denver, Colorado. A luncheon will follow in the reception hall next to the church.
